Southern Oregon Historical Society welcomes you to The History Center for our first annual benefit art show!
106 North Central Avenue, Medford
Exhibition Dates: December 1 – 31, 2010, Tuesdays – Fridays from 12 – 4 pm
Artist Reception and Silent Auction: December 17 from 8 – 5 pm, coinciding with Medford’s Third Friday Art Walk
The Southern Oregon Historical Society is proud to present over 100 pieces of art by dozens of Southern Oregon artists selected by juror Stefan Bauman, artist and host of PBS’ “The Grand View” for our first annual benefit art show and sale. While we have paintings displayed in our windows at the corner of Central and 6th, we invite you any Tuesday – Friday from noon – 4pm through December to spend some time exploring the entire collection.
Though the art on display at the History Center is now available for purchase, those who love a challenge might like to preview the work ahead of time, then come to the Artist Reception and bid generously during the Silent Auction! Sales of all art benefit the Southern Oregon Historical Society, and now is the perfect time to look over our offerings and choose your favorite! Art will remain on display throughout the month of December for all to enjoy before going home to their new owners.
SOHS will host a festive reception at the History Center on December 17, coinciding with Medford’s Third Friday Art Walk. At the heart of a month-long series of historically related events highlighting the establishment of Southern Oregon Historical Society, this event features more than 40 regional artists whose work celebrates the diverse and rich history of the southern region of Oregon with portrayals of the landmarks, landscapes, buildings and people that represent our treasured past.
Juror Stefan Baumann, artist and host of the PBS show “The Grand View: America’s National Parks Through the Eyes of an Artist,” will recognize artists whose work is of exceptional quality and historical significance and announce the artist selected for an individual show at the History Center during January 2011. We will also conduct a silent auction.
