Down River by Mary Jo Heath

On Third Friday, Oct. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Art du Jour, 213 E. Main, Medford, across from Vogel Park, come meet pastel artist Mary Jo Heath. Her vibrant drawings for the exhibit “Paintings of Peru” highlight vendors in native dress, llamas and alpacas, cathedrals and monasteries, Incas and Spaniards. Woven together they create the rich fabric that is Peru.

Heath’s work has been shown extensively through the Rogue Valley. Her love of pastel painting shows in the statement, “Whatever the inspiration, pastel says it best for me.”

Heath’s exhibition will run from October 1 – 31.

Guest Artist Daniel Verner will be showing his representational narrative paintings in the Salon. Most of his paintings tell a story through the use of the human figure and with symbolism. He considers art to be “…a wonderful interaction, a lively dance ever changing.” Enjoy speaking to him about his art.

Wine and finger foods will be served during the event and the work of 22 artists will be on display. Call 541-770-3190 or see www.artdujourgallery.com
