About SOAR

Southern Oregon Artists Resource

Connecting our Arts Community…to You!

Art Matters logoThe Southern Oregon Artists Resource (SOAR) was created and is maintained by Hannah West of Hannah West Design, LLC in Jacksonville, Oregon. Its official launch was January 1, 2010. Born from concern for the ability of artists in our area to survive the pressures of the economic collapse of 2008, our goal was to make our art community easier to explore online. After months of careful consideration, we created an online directory to serve as a hub for information about and links to regional artists and galleries. We envisioned the Southern Oregon Artists Resource as a scheduling and collaboration reference for galleries, venues, and event planners, as well as a planning resource for residents and for visitors coming to enjoy the rich palette of southern Oregon arts and culture. Eight years later, we are grateful that the site has worked so well to make it convenient for the art-loving public to explore and connect with the art community.
