COUTURE, JAVNA, LITTEKEN at Rogue Gallery and Art Center - Opening Friday Night!

The TRIO Series features artists from the region and beyond who are individually selected by a jury and grouped together to create a dynamic exhibition.

Renee Couture presents Shadow Effects, a multi-media installation including photography, sculpture, video and the written word that explores the intersection of public libraries and public lands. Couture’s work is supported in part by an Oregon Opportunity Grant through the Oregon Arts Commission. She lives in Glide, Oregon.

Maggie Javna displays richly textured paintings that reveal her intuitive process and the multiple layers of paint and glaze used to suggest. Javna lives in Ashland, Oregon.

Matthew Litteken investigates the notion of consumerism through the exploitation of money in his highly patterned paintings that incorporate the iconography and motifs from U.S. currency. Litteken’s project was made possible in part through the support of the School of Fine Arts, Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, where Litteken teaches.
