Ashland New Plays Festival announces the winners of its ANPF Women’s Invitational. They are Martyna Majok for Cost of Living (formerly Ropes in the Well); Lauren Yee for King of the Yees; and grand prize winner Jiehae Park for Hannah and the Dread Gazebo. The Women’s Invitational festival will be held March 25-27, 2016 in the Music Recital Hall at Southern Oregon University in Ashland. Dramatic readings of each play will be presented in both matinee and evening performances at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Read on for more info…

The opening reception of Clatsop Community College’s seventh annual juried art exhibit, Au Naturel: The Nude in the 21st Century, was held Thursday, March 7, in the CCC Art Center Gallery.

The Art Center Gallery at Clatsop Community College will open its 2012-2013 exhibition season with a two-person exhibit featuring the artwork of fine artist and graphic designer Kerry Conboy of Monterey, CA and fine artist and architect Don Copper of Chicago, IL. A reception welcoming both artists will be held on Thursday, October 4that 6:00 p.m. in the CCC Art Center Gallery, and the artwork will remain on display through October 25th. The gallery reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.
Both artists were selected to exhibit in the 2012 Au Naturel international juried exhibit by juror Bonnie Laing-Malcolmson, the Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Curator of Northwest Art at the Portland Art Museum. Three beautiful paintings were chosen as winners at SOSA’s 2011 Year-End Banquet and Juried Critique: Big Sister by Janet Rawlings won First Place, with Charlotte Peterson’s watercolor, “‘Tis the Raven, Nevermore,” coming in second and Alx’s own mixed-media abstract, “Bliss” taking third. Bandon photographer Wanda Young believes photography should be fun. So she organized a photography contest and exhibit for the 2011 Bandon Cranberry Festival. Amateur photographers displayed their work alongside the pros for an colorful showcase at Bandon Harbortown Event Center.
