It’s official: the second annual Vignettes in the Vineyard writing workshop is coming up!
Last year, we had a wonderful gathering in the scenic Red Lily barn. Glasses of wine in hand, we crafted vignettes—short, impressionistic passages of poetry or prose. It’s one of the best ways to write!

Time: Thursday, 27 September 2018, 3-5 pm
Place: Red Lily Vineyards: 11777 Highway 238, Jacksonville, OR 97530 (We’ll be meeting in their event barn)

Not only will the boys and girls be getting trimmed up but we will also have food, (yummy BBQ), music, and of course, wine! Throughout the day there will also be live fiber demonstrations of shearing, spinning, carding, and knitting the fiber. Also watch demonstrations on wet felting. Make your own wet felted soaps…yes soap! Watch the fiber from the alpaca turn into a scarf!

About the author: Photographer and Cardio-thoracic Surgical Physician Assistant John Petersen has helped patients and family through some of the most stressful days of their lives. This makes creating images with a sense of beauty and peace which can relieve the stresses of life one of his greatest joys. In February 2012, he decided to go forward with an opportunity to participate in a pilgrimage in Italy inspired by the book “ "Chasing Francis” by Ian Morgan Cron., following the footsteps of St Francis of Assisi through Assisi and Rome. This blog is a journal of his preparations for the trip leading up to his departure in April, and thoughts and images from his travels in Italy while he's there.
