Ashland artist Micah Ofstedahl combines the conscious observations of science with the subconscious imagination of the mind in his surrealistic acrylic paintings. Jacksonville artist Leona Keene Sewitsky explores the unconscious mind in playful, dreamlike, and mysterious sculptures created from recycled objects and papier maché.

Micah Ofstedahl was born and raised in Austin, Minnesota and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in sculpture and ceramics from Minnesota State University. Micah describes his work as an exploration of the unknown and the importance of its relationship to scientific and human advancement. Micah states, “I am constantly being amazed by the hidden beauty

Jacksonville artist Walt Wirfs captures the everyday joy of friends, family and strangers with their canine companions in detailed graphite drawings. DOCUMENTARY SCREENING THIS SATURDAY As part of the Rogue Gallery’s Impressionism exhibit we are screening documentaries about important Impressionistic painters. The last movie in the series will be screened this Saturday at 2:00 pm. The movie lasts approximately one hour. – July 15, 2017, 2PM: Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec

ARTClectic Artisans Market

Jacksonville artist Walt Wirfs is the featured artist at the Art’Clectic December Pop-Up event during Victorian Christmas Days in Jacksonville. The art show will be held at the IOOF Hall, 175 S Oregon St. The show will be open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from Dec. 2, through Dec. 18th. Hours are 11-5.

Walt, who has lived in Oregon most of his life, started working in oils and watercolor at the age of 13. He enjoys creating plein air scenes of the area where he lives or visits. Recently he is focusing on places in and around Jacksonville, working in oils and graphite drawings. This work will be on display during the upcoming Art’Clectic Event. Walt is also showing at Art Presence Art Center, Rogue Gallery and Art Center in Medford, as well as Ryan’s Gallery in Lincoln City, OR.

The Art’Clectic Local Artisans Group has created a “Pop-Up” event with 12 local artisans, offering an “Authentically Oregon” mix of fine artisan made items including Fine Art, Hand woven Textiles, Quilts, Furniture, and more. The Art’Clectic Artisans Market will be held during Jacksonville’s Victorian Christmas Weekends at 175 S. Oregon Street (IOOF #10) December 5-7th, December 12-14th, December 19-21st, Fridays from 4-8pm, Saturday & Sundays from 10-6pm.
