March 12, 2020 Special Communication COVID-19 Update from OAC Dear Oregon Arts Community, As coronavirus COVID-19 continues to spread across Oregon, we recognize the impact this health crisis and recently announced restrictions on gatherings of more than 250 people are having on Oregon arts organizations and artists. We want to support you in responding to and managing that impact and have gathered some resources that we believe could be valuable to the field, below. Americans for the Arts has posted information and tips to support the arts sector. ArtsReady has also shared information for event venues. The United Way of Mid-Willamette Valley has announced it will allocate micro-grants to local nonprofits to combat the spread of the virus. The grants total up to $300 per agency, per county and must go toward preventing the spread of the virus. The grant is open to any nonprofit in Marion County, Polk

Arts Alliance of Southern Oregon January 12, 2015, 2:30-4 PM, Rogue Gallery & Art Center Studio Community Meeting Notes Over 18 community members attended including artists, arts advocates, and representatives from art organizations including Rogue Gallery & Art Center, Art Presence, Edgy Art Events, Southern Oregon Guild, Grants Pass Commission for Public Art, Medford Arts Commission, Art Works, and more. Participants from throughout Southern Oregon represented both Jackson and Josephine County as we came together to forge and strengthen the Arts Alliance of Southern Oregon. We shared the history of the Arts Alliance: In Spring 2013, leaders from various arts organizations gathered with a vision to strengthen partnership and improve communication for the benefit of the larger arts community. Since then, we regularly held panel discussions, public, and steering committee meetings to gather input as to what the Arts Alliance should be and came up with mission and vision statements.

Legislature adjourns with support for Oregon Cultural Trust

1,364 advocacy messages were sent this session to the governor and legislators. Key legislators received their constituent messages at the moment that decisions were being made in the committee process. Grassroots advocacy matters! Legislators voted to support arts and culture in Oregon with more funding for the Oregon Cultural Trust, the Oregon Arts Commission, the Oregon Historical Society and other cultural institutions. Now it’s time to say: Thank You!
