Table Rock Plein Air Hike

The Nature Conservancy and Medford District BLM annually sponsor a series of free guided hikes at the Table Rocks led by local specialists in different fields. This year’s list of spring hikes – Find Your Nature on the Rocks! – includes one that we thought might be of special interest to your organization. Hikes are free but online registration is required due to limited space.

Saturday, May 4, 9:00 a.m., LOWER TABLE ROCK OAK LOOP TRAIL

Plein Air Paintout @ the Rocks: Join Darlene Southworth, botanist and artist, for an outdoor painting session along the Lower Table Rock Oak Loop Trail (1/2 mile accessible trail) Bring your sketchpads, painting materials (any medium) and easel and chair, if you desire. Table Rock Art Hike

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and Bureau of Land Management Medford District are co-sponsoring a series of free guided educational hikes at the Table Rocks weekends in April and May.

Sunday, April 15, 9:00 a.m., LOWER TABLE ROCK

Nature Sketching & Journaling: Join a scientist turned artist for a hike and exploration of art in nature.

Darlene Southworth, SOU professor emerita of biology and watercolor journalist, will share her perspective on the landscapes you see and the natural history you encounter along the trail.

Bring a sketchpad and pencils or pens; watercolors are optional but welcome.

Limited to 15 individuals.

Spring Nature Sketching at Lower Table Rock with Cheryl Magellan

The Nature Conservancy and the BLM Medford District Office invite you to a free interpretive hiking opportunity at the Lower Table Rock in Central Point (Wheeler Road off Table Rock Road) on April 7, 2013. There is no fee to participate but reservations are required. Participation is limited to 15 individuals. To reserve a space call the BLM Medford District Office, Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm at (541) 618-2200. Anyone from the community is welcome to sign up.
