Artists! All local chalk artists are invited to participate in this small but growing event which is now in its fourth year. Each year’s event has a different theme, and this year it’s Italian/French style masterpiece art, based on Historical Italy’s “The Grazie.” We also invite volunteer musicians, local and professional alike. We start this year’s event with 5 local artists and a few local musicians who are interested in making this event a place of destination. Art Enthusiasts, Parents & Residents! Join us for a celebration of quality chalk art and local live music in downtown Medford on Bartlett off Main St. on Saturday, June 28th from 9-9pm and Sunday June 29th from 12-6 pm. We will have chalk squares available for kids to experiment and play with. Contact Founder/Artist Cathy Gallatin with any questions and to apply for entry at 541-840-2982 or [email protected] Here’s a look at past Continue reading Takin’ It To The Street Chalk Art & Music Festival By Southern Oregon Artists Resource, 1954 contributed posts

He decided, in 2006, to focus primarily on visual art and begin exploring the nature of painting, by both doing it and writing about it. He’s the author of The Force (Random House) and The Cost of Living (Viking), and numerous articles for national magazines. His award-winning paintings have been exhibited at museums, galleries and universities in the United States and Europe. We've syndicated David's excellent blog at Sarah's request so we can all enjoy his well written insights on the world of art. I had a fun conversation with Darryl Moody last week at Viridian Artists. He holds a BA in Graphic Arts from the University of Illinois in Chicago, where he studied design with Bauhaus artists […] Continue reading Sampling order from chaos By dave dorsey, 976 contributed posts

It’s taken me far too long to get a look at Kurt Ketchum’s work, and I was even more impressed by it than I expected to […] Continue reading It takes courage. Really. Quit laughing.
