September’s Mini Workshop dives into the exciting world of Encaustic Painting! Whether it’s painting traditionally or collaging/mixed media, encaustics have amazing versatility as one of the world’s oldest artistic mediums. September 2017 at Art du Jour Gallery UP FRONT: Pick the Winner in Our “People’s Choice” Photo Contest!
Our September “People’s Choice” photo-art entries are now on display as you enter the gallery, and your ability to choose the winner from among these 18 fine art photographs will be sorely challenged! We were blown away by the excitement and quality of these entries – they are ALL amazing photographs!
A $50 prize and a blue ribbon await the winner and we need you to help determine which photo will prevail. As a gallery visitor during September, you are eligible to vote once for the photo you like best. The winning photograph will be exhibited in the gallery during October, and all photographs are for sale. Please drop by the gallery this month, challenge yourself to pick the winner, and cast your vote for your favorite photo!

Get inspired by 23 artists in 18 studio locations throughout Josephine County. Artist’s whose studios are located south of the Rogue River have their studios open on 9/23 & 9/24. The next weekend, 9/30 & 10/1, artists whose studios are north of the Rogue River have their studios open. Both days the studios are open 10 am – 5 pm. Tickets for the event are $20 per adult. The map of all the studio locations is the ticket. And for the first 150 tickets we have an Artist Guide Book, featuring photos of each artist’s work, and their artist statements. It is a 52 page, 6” x 9” book. Attendees can visit as many studios as they like, over the course of the 4 days. Grants Pass Museum of Art September 2017 Events, Exhibitions and Activities Exhibitions Hot Palette – Exhibition of works by Dianne Jean Erickson: August 4 – September 15, 2017.
