Art du Jour Gallery at 213 E. Main St., Medford, will showcase the art of two well known Rogue Valley artists, Richard Woods and Corinne Stubson, through the month of September. The gallery is located at 213 E. Main in Medford, across from Vogel Park. Enjoy the work of many local artists that includes landscapes, digital art, abstracts, sculpture, ceramics, and more. Richard Woods will display several new pieces using the realism that he enjoys as he finds the use of detail fascinating. Woods’ works include the use of many mediums, oils, acrylics, pen and ink, pencil and Conte crayon. His favorites are pencil and Conte crayon as they give him the most control. Woods’ states, “My love for and interest in art began in early childhood. I have been drawing and painting most of my life.” His subjects have included lions, landscapes, still lifes, scenes from downtown Medford,

My work is currently being exhibited through the end of the year at Aurora Vines tasting room, located at 2275 Pioneer Rd., Talent, Oregon. The tasting room is open Thursday through Sunday from 12 noon to 5 pm, and their phone number is 541-897-0592. The owner, Vicki Nickerson, has one of the top vineyards in our area, producing award winning wines. I hope you will find time to visit, see my work, and enjoy some fine southern Oregon wine!

8th Annual Hillsboro Plein Air Plus

Artists from across the region will converge to capture the sights and scenes of Hillsboro at the 8th Annual Hillsboro Plein Air Plus event on September 12th and 13th. This annual outdoor art competition hosted by the Hillsboro Arts & Culture Council brings artists of all mediums, styles and levels to our community, and highlights the wonderful landscapes, city scenes and people of Hillsboro.

 

You don’t need to be an artist to enjoy this event! Spectators are encouraged to come out and watch the artists at work, or come out to Saturday’s Reception to see the completed artwork, meet the artists, and vote for the People’s Choice Award.
