March 12, 2020 Special Communication COVID-19 Update from OAC Dear Oregon Arts Community, As coronavirus COVID-19 continues to spread across Oregon, we recognize the impact this health crisis and recently announced restrictions on gatherings of more than 250 people are having on Oregon arts organizations and artists. We want to support you in responding to and managing that impact and have gathered some resources that we believe could be valuable to the field, below. Americans for the Arts has posted information and tips to support the arts sector. ArtsReady has also shared information for event venues. The United Way of Mid-Willamette Valley has announced it will allocate micro-grants to local nonprofits to combat the spread of the virus. The grants total up to $300 per agency, per county and must go toward preventing the spread of the virus. The grant is open to any nonprofit in Marion County, Polk

The destruction of physical property and financial resources has been devastating to nonprofit arts organizations along the Gulf Coast. This will also be an even greater challenge for self-employed artists, losing stability both at home and at work. As an organization of 350,000 individuals, Arts Action Fund members can help. I encourage you to make a charitable donation to some of these arts-specific recovery funds:
