Gifts, Antique Quilts, Wearable Art and Hamilton Watercolors at Art du Jour Gallery

December and January are sumptuous months at Art du Jour Gallery! We are blessed with not just one special guest artist but three, and all three are displaying uniquely beautiful forms of quilting and fabric art. Our two quilt artists are Charlotte Wirfs and Karen Hanken, and our wearable knits fabric artist is Laura Lawrence. Their work will be on display in our Salon and the main gallery in December and January. Featured gallery artist during December and January is our own Dodie Hamilton-Brandon, renowned watercolorist and beloved art teacher here in the Rogue Valley for the past 33 years. Art du Jour’s artist reception is on Dec 18th from 5–8 p.m. Meet Dodie and our quilt and fabric artists! Live music by Rick Patsche. Gallery hours: 10–4, Tues–Sat.

“To Market, To Market” Art’Clectic Local Artisans Victorian Christmas Market

The Art’Clectic Local Artisans Group has created a “Pop-Up” event with 12 local artisans, offering an “Authentically Oregon” mix of fine artisan made items including Fine Art, Hand woven Textiles, Quilts, Furniture, and more. The Art’Clectic Artisans Market will be held during Jacksonville’s Victorian Christmas Weekends at 175 S. Oregon Street (IOOF #10) December 5-7th, December 12-14th, December 19-21st, Fridays from 4-8pm, Saturday & Sundays from 10-6pm.

We are delighted to announce the new listing of the Jacksonville Museum Quilters, who have officially opened the Quilting category, now available in the Wearable Art section of the Lifestyle Arts directory. Keeping this ancient functional art alive with skill and talent, these women create beautiful quilts using advanced hand-applique techniques.
