Gifts, Antique Quilts, Wearable Art and Hamilton Watercolors at Art du Jour Gallery

Watercolor painting by Dodie Hamilton-Brandon

December and January are sumptuous months at Art du Jour Gallery! We are blessed with not just one special guest artist but three, and all three are displaying uniquely beautiful forms of quilting and fabric art. Our two quilt artists are Charlotte Wirfs and Karen Hanken, and our wearable knits fabric artist is Laura Lawrence. Their work will be on display in our Salon and the main gallery in December and January. Featured gallery artist during December and January is our own Dodie Hamilton-Brandon, renowned watercolorist and beloved art teacher here in the Rogue Valley for the past 33 years. Art du Jour’s artist reception is on Dec 18th from 5–8 p.m. Meet Dodie and our quilt and fabric artists! Live music by Rick Patsche. Gallery hours: 10–4, Tues–Sat.

Elements Show at RGAC

The quilted pieces on display range from intricate embroidery to painted silk, from garments to wall art, and from abstract to landscape to figurative. Definitely a fabulous display of the broad range of creativity possible with fabric, needle and thread! This show will only be up for another week, ending next Friday, so I strongly recommend you go see it soon if you haven’t already. You’ll be glad you did!
