Mary Goodson, Water versus Earth

(Medford, OR) – March 6, 2013– High Fiber Diet, a Northwest-based fiber artists’ group affiliated with the Columbia FiberArts Guild of Portland, presents textile works as part of the Rogue Gallery & Art Center’s 2013 Main Gallery exhibition series. The Elements: Air, Earth, Fire and Water exhibit features wall hangings, mostly artistic quilts, as well as felted and wearable art. The artwork demonstrates innovative techniques, superb craftsmanship, original design, and a unique artistic vision. Each fiber artist has created a window into the natural world influenced by the four elements: earth, air, water or fire.

This show focuses on textile art drawing on the tradition of quilting while using it as a contemporary springboard. The Jacksonville Museum Quilters announce their 33rd annual quilt show, coming the second weekend in July. After 32 years at the US Hotel, this year the quilters also announce a change in venue. Please join them 7/8-7/10 at Jacksonville Elementary School, 655 Heuners Lane, on Friday and Saturday from 10am – 4pm And Sunday from 10am – 3pm. Admission is $4. Read on for more details…
