This collection of artist opportunities includes international shows, juried exhibitions, calls for proposals, a call for elementary students’ art, an art festival in Indian Wells, and a writer’s retreat in Iceland. Themes include botanicals, animals, endangered species, photography, taste & smell, teachers against prejudice, art inspired by the novel Frankenstein, portraits (this one is for members of the Portrait Society only). New to us at HuffPost Arts, Philip Scott Johnson‘s “500 Years Of Female Portraits In Western Art” is intriguing in its ability to trace how representations of women have changed throughout art’s history.
