Oregon Poet Laureate Peter Sears

Peter Sears, Oregon’s Poet Laureate, will read his poetry and conduct a poetry writing demonstration, Sat. April 25, from 3:30-5:00 p.m., in the Adams Room at the Medford Library. Participants should bring paper and pencils or a pen. A graduate of Yale and the Iowa Writers Workshop, Sears’ work has appeared in many national periodicals and newspapers such as Saturday Review, The New York Times, Rolling Stone and others. He has been published in literary magazines such as Field, New Letters, Iowa Review, and Poetry Northwest. He has authored three full-length collections of poetry. In 2009, The Brink, was named one of Oregon’s 150 best books by the Oregon State Library. After the workshop, a reception for Sears will be held at Art du Jour Gallery, 213 E.
