Continue reading Artists Workshop Plein Air Event Show and Sale  Artists Workshop Plein Air Event Show and Sale Coming July 1, 2017 On the front lawn at Art Presence Art Center in Jacksonville, Oregon! The Artists Workshop is holding their 2017 Plein Air Event this year from June 28-July 1, 2017. Participating artists will paint on location for three days, then present their work for judging, a show and sale on the front lawn of the Art Presence Art Center in Jacksonville, Oregon on July 1 from 9 am – 3 pm. There will be an exciting quick-paint competition from 10 am to noon, and the awards ceremony takes place at 2:30 pm. Over 30 artists are participating in this year’s event, which means there will be a wide range of plein air painting styles available to interested collectors. Jurors are Willo Balfrey and Richard McKinley, so you know the awards will be decided by two of the most Continue reading Artists Workshop Plein Air Event Show and Sale  Painters of all levels are welcome to participate. The event culminates in the Umpqua Plein Air Exhibit opening, which is on Saturday from 1 – 3pm and is juried by award-winning plein air painter Mike Hernandez. Each participant in the Umpqua Plein Air Paintout will have at least one piece hanging in the show, which fills the entire Arts Center building. The exhibit will hang from September 19 through October 23, 2015. Cash prizes will be granted at the opening of the show, as well as many awards of distinction that will be given by the juror.  June’s just around the corner! As you can see from the flyer below, whole bunches is taking place that day! All you need to do is show up at 9am, definitely no later than 10:30am (event starts at 11am), and choose your spot to set up. There’s no fee of any sort, HOWEVER, if you sell some of your work, we request a 10% donation of your proceeds. That’s it! Due to the number of events taking place this year, artists are asked to set up on the front lawn of the Hanley Farm House, and surrounding areas.
As in past events, you’ll have several great sites, including the lawn in front of Hanley House, the area to the left of the pavilion, the lovely spring house area, Jackson Creek area, etc., to set up in.
