“The hands that heal can also be the hands that create.” Medicine is one of the most rigorous areas of study that a person can take up. And it would seem to have nothing to do with art. But medicine deals with the human body, and so it has often been the subject of artists. “In the Renaissance, physicians and artists started working together to really do a scientific study of the human body.” says Nick Nelson, Director of the Albany Museum of Art.
