While browsing the garden for inspiration, I discovered that the Bamboo I thought I had secured within a deep walled box, had run amok and was vigorously sprouting throughout the adjacent flowers. While snapping them off hoping to at least … Continue reading →

About the author: I have been toting a camera ever since I took a cross-country road trip in 1971. Just a few years ago, however, I gave up my Big Girl camera for an iPhone and iPad....and then started to carry a sketchbook, too. It is a thrill to play with them all in today's dazzling, digital darkroom.....possibilities abound! I offer works printed on fine art paper as well as metal. It’s wonderful to be back in Ashland among our thriving artistic community! On Saturday, I participated in Ashland Paint Out, a plein-air-painting competition (though it was all very convivial) that sent local artists out into North Mountain and Lithia parks. Our mission was to capture the landscape, colors and visions of these world-class parks and […]

I started out with some calligraphy sheets of paper, my twinkling H2o’s and some inks. And a water dish and paper towels…

Mornings of kayaking in the river and mountain lakes near our home. Preparing for workshops and traveling to Colorado. You can see photos of Decorated Pages, my workshop at MomoLolo Coffee…

I painted these coastal scenes in plein air at the Oregon Coast through an annual event that artist Eric Sandgren sponsors every year. He conducts workshops and invites all plein air painters to come and join at the various locations. Painting with a group adds to the excitement and creates a camaraderie that transforms the usually solitary experience into […]
