I have been given a wonderful opportunity to visit the town of Sayulita, Mexico. Two of my dear friends have built an amazing and artistic Villa overlooking the Pacific Ocean. They have gifted me a trip to experience this unique work of art named Villa Poema De Amor – Villa Love Poem. Tomorrow morning, Wednesday September 4th at 6:30am I will begin my travels to Mexico. Longtime Ashlanders Zan Nix and Lloyd Haines created Villa Poema De Amore together. It is a beautiful example of craftsmanship filled with art from the local artisans. I plan to learn all that I can about its creation and the town it resides in. Please follow me on Facebook as I get to explore Villa Poema De Amor and Sayulita. I will be posting throughout the day during my stay and hope to share my findings with you. I cannot wait to see what Continue reading Announcement from Ashland Art Center Executive Director Denise Baxter By Southern Oregon Artists Resource, 1887 contributed posts

He enthusiastically engages visitors and locals in the Efren Gonzalez Cultural Center, a gallery, frame shop, ceramics studio, and classroom, where he mentors both adults and children. His work includes painted murals, watercolor and oil paintings, and a recently developed, incredible, three-dimensional clay mural technique. Efren Gonzalez – Ceramic Mural These clay murals were inspired by ancient Mayan traditions, although the method and outcome is completely Efren’s invention. The murals, which measure about 8 feet high and can be as much as 18 feet wide, are made in sections, then fired and assembled at the installation site.
