Summer At Last!

Come to Art Presence Art Center’s gallery to view and celebrate the end of a long, wet winter with us! Summer At Last!, our June-July member show of summer themed artworks, opens on Friday, June 2 and continues through Sunday, July 30. Meet the artists at a reception on Saturday, June 3 from 1–3 pm. Tomorrow’s reception features wine tasting by Cliff Creek Winery, Sharon Mehdi’s author reading from her book, “A Curious Quest for Absolute Truth,” refreshments, and live music by Minstrel Streams.

Each year the Rogue Gallery & Art Center reflects on one of the great art movements of the past or present to inspire our member artists in their journey of creating original works of art. This year 23 artists created art with the Impressionist Art Movement as their inspiration. Works include paintings in oil, acrylic, and watercolor as well as encaustics, pastels, photography, and collage.

Impressionism originated in France in the mid-nineteenth century, with the emphasis on the visual impression of the moment. The artists working in the Impressionist style seek to capture the reflection of light, atmospheric essence, as well as
