About the author: Writers’ Room Workshops provide a unique opportunity to write in community in Southern Oregon. Participants generate writing from prompts and receive useful feedback in an encouraging environment. Weekly practice groups and special workshops are led in the Amherst Writers and Artists method. Writers’ Room Workshops are built to inspire, develop and celebrate each writer’s unique voice.Marion Peters Denard is a certified facilitator in the Amherst Writers and Artists method. She holds a Masters of Arts in Liberal Studies from Dartmouth College where she focused on writing short fiction and poetry. At the University of Puget Sound she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with Honors. Her writing has appeared in Arches: The Alumni Magazine of the University of Puget Sound; City Scapes: Poems by PDX Writers; and online. In 2011, Peregrine named her a finalist in the Pat Schneider Poetry contest. Marion taught composition at Vermont Technical College and has used her writing in support of preventing and addressing domestic violence, sexual violence and child abuse.Marion has led writing workshops with kindergartners, adults returning to school, college students, teenagers, new mothers and others. She believes every person has a unique voice and a story to tell.

A new weekly writing workshop begins January 26 through February 23rd on Tuesday evenings, 6:30 – 9 pm at the Medford Central Library. Come join us!
