The Southern Oregon Society of Artists (SOSA) will be meeting August 28th at 7 pm at the Medford Public Library. The guest speaker will be Watercolor by Marianne Nielsen from Grants Pass. She will be teaching her techniques for painting pet faces, especially dogs and cats eyes whiskers and noses.. Anyone interested in Art is welcome to attend.
Marianne teaches watercolor classes four times a week in Grants Pass. She is currently displaying her art at Gallery One in Grants Pass. “This gift from his estate will enable the Rogue Gallery & Art Center to continue Eugene Bennett’s vision of bringing the visual arts to Southern Oregon” says executive director Kim Hearon. In addition to the endowment, the Bennett estate also appointed the Rogue Gallery & Art Center as the seller of his personal artwork from his estate. The Rogue Gallery will have a special exhibition of Eugene Bennett’s art on display and available for purchase from June 29 – July 6.

Clatsop Community College is proud to announce that the artwork selected for the seventh annual international competition Au Naturel: The Nude in the 21st Century is on display at CCC’s Art Center Gallery, 1799 Lexington Avenue, Astoria, OR. The Au Naturel exhibit will run from February 21st through March 28th, 2013.
The CCC Art Center Gallery will host a reception honoring the selected artists on Thursday, March 7th at 6:00 pm. This year’s juror, Clint Brown, will be present to give a gallery talk. Awards to be announced at the reception include cash prizes, purchase awards, a solo show award to be held during the 2013-2014 exhibition season, and a select number of workshop awards.
