The Chinook Arts Festival September 3rd-5th A bit closer to Long Beach, Washington, the Chinook Arts Festival will also be taking place on Labor Day weekend. This festival features blown glass, stained glass, photography, jewelry, oil and watercolor paintings, pottery, wood sculptures and more. Come witness the work of the many incredibly talented artists who reside on our beautiful peninsula!

Jacksonville Celebrates the Arts 2012

Celebrate the Arts 2012 is our 16th Annual event featuring 70 fine artists and artistic crafters, held at the Jacksonville Historic Courthouse gardens, 206 N. 5th Street, Jacksonville; Friday August 31, 11AM-6PM; Saturday & Sunday September 1 & 2, 10AM-5PM. You will find for your viewing and purchasing pleasure: paintings; photography; sculpture; hand crafted jewelry; furniture; wearable art; soaps, hoops, and natural fiber creations. Artists are from throughout southern Oregon and beyond. Entertainment twice daily, tasty meals & treats; and art demonstrations. Come for the day; stay for the weekend in Historic Jacksonville. Enjoy local hospitality,fine foods and wines, woodland hikes, and guided historic tours.

The Artists’ Workshop 28th Annual Art Show & Sale

The Artists’ Workshop will fill the walls of the new Art Presence Art Center in Jacksonville to present their 28th Annual Art Exhibit from August 3 through August 26. The exhibit will be open from 11 to 5 each Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the four weekends. The Art Presence Art Center is located at 206 N. 5th Street, the corner of 5th and D Streets. A festive reception will be held on Saturday, August 4th from 3 to 6 PM. Please come and see their latest work and visit with the artists.

Jacksonville Artists Steve & Sue Bennett will be appearing at the 19th Annual Labor Day Weekend Art Walk and First Weekend in Toledo, Oregon. This year’s line-up of artists promises a richly varied selection of high quality artwork. Participating artists, studios and galleries this year include Gallery Michael Gibbons, Ivan Kelly Gallery, Caroll Loomis, Becky Miller Studio-Gallery, SolaLuna Studios, the Yaquina River Museum of Art, the Justice of the Peace Studio, and The Gallery on Main Street. Each of the galleries will have maps available for the self-guided tour. Hours are 10 am to 5 pm daily, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, September 1, 2 and 3, 2012.

The event coordinator of the Jacksonville Celebrates the Arts Festival is accepting applications now – August 15th, 2012. Potters and clay sculptors, weavers, painters, toy makers, and creators of original clothing, musical instruments, soaps/candles/lotions, designer furniture, artistically-crafted unique paper, wood, stone, glass, metal, gourds, fiber arts and leather are all welcome to apply. SOAR Welcomes Jacksonville Celebrates the Arts!

Jacksonville Celebrates the Arts 2011

The festival, which draws an enthusiastic crowd of art lovers to Jacksonville on Labor Day weekend, is part of a long-term initiative to create a Community Center for the town. Though admission is free to the public, entry fees from vendors cover the event’s expenses and contribute to funding for the long-anticipated Community Center.
