Rogue Gallery exhibits for Downtown Medford’s Third Friday Friday, September 20, 5:30 – 8:00 pm In the Community Gallery Exhibit Reception: Scenes from the City: Paintings by Desmond Serratore August 30 – October 4, 2019 Rogue Valley artist Desmond Serratore is a plein air painter working in oil, capturing urban and rural landscapes in his impressionistic style. This exhibit showcases familiar scenes from southern Oregon, from around town and out to the coast. Desmond Serratore learned to paint working as a commercial artist. He is a member of the Artists Workshop, the Southern Oregon Artists Guild, the Rogue Gallery & Art Center, Art Presence in Jacksonville, the Southern Oregon Society of Artists and the Ashland Gallery Association. This year he was awarded a Grant from The Haines & Friends Fund. Third Friday Downtown Medford Art Walk Friday, June 21, 5:30 – 8:00 pm Community Gallery Inspired by the East: Annual Art Movement Tribute June 7 – July 12, 2019 Tom Glassman, Mural Detail of Tashi Choling, Photograph Rogue Gallery artists created work with the inspiration of the art of the East. Artists used themes and styles from China, Japan, India, and other countries of the East. The exhibit includes oil, acrylics, watercolor, pen and ink, Chinese brush painting, pastels, fiber art, photography, and mixed media. SOSA January 2017 Meeting – The Southern Oregon Society of Artists (SOSA) will start the 2017 Season on January 23, at 6:30 pm at the Medford Public Library. The SOSA January 2017 Meeting opening program is a Membership Art Critique with Kim Hearon, Executive Director of the Rogue Gallery & Art Center, acting as Juror. Also at the SOSA January 2017 Meeting, the President’s Challenge will be B&W drawings, no bigger than 8×10 and hopefully incorporating “SOSA” and “2017” but not required. (Medford, OR) – June 19, 2013– The Rogue Gallery & Art Center (RGAC) announced today the appointment of a new Executive Director. Ms. Hearon stepped in as the interim executive director in November 2012, following the resignation of Jules Masterjohn. “Kim Hearon has served successfully during the time of transition. Her enthusiasm, combined with her background in business and the arts made her the obvious choice for executive director” says Rogue Gallery board president Frann Wolfe. Ms. Hearon is a longtime resident of the Rogue Valley. She was a partner in Molly Reed Gifts and Interiors in downtown Medford for over 20 years. An artist herself, she holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in painting and drawing, and has been involved in several art organizations in the region. The Rogue Gallery & Art Center recently completed a strategic plan.
