Rogue Gallery exhibits for Downtown Medford’s Third Friday Friday, September 20, 5:30 – 8:00 pm In the Community Gallery Exhibit Reception: Scenes from the City: Paintings by Desmond Serratore August 30 – October 4, 2019 Rogue Valley artist Desmond Serratore is a plein air painter working in oil, capturing urban and rural landscapes in his impressionistic style. This exhibit showcases familiar scenes from southern Oregon, from around town and out to the coast. Desmond Serratore learned to paint working as a commercial artist. He is a member of the Artists Workshop, the Southern Oregon Artists Guild, the Rogue Gallery & Art Center, Art Presence in Jacksonville, the Southern Oregon Society of Artists and the Ashland Gallery Association. This year he was awarded a Grant from The Haines & Friends Fund. May 18, 2018, 6:30 – 7:30 pm Third Friday Downtown Medford Artwalk Teddy Abrams will be at the Rogue Gallery to talk about his passion – music. Teddy Abrams is a versatile musician and widely-acclaimed Director and Conductor of the Britt Orchestra. He plays the piano, clarinet and composes. A tireless advocate for the power of music, Abrams fosters interdisciplinary collaboration with organizations including the Louisville Ballet, the Center for Interfaith Relations, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Speed Art Museum, and the Folger Shakespeare Library. Main Gallery Art in Bloom: Darla Baack, Vera Melnyk & Kathy Morawiec Exhibit date: April 27–June 1, 2018 Reception Date: May 18, 2018 Darla Baack, Sun and Moon, Stained Glass This beautiful exhibit features works from three Northwest artists; Kathy Morawiec, who paints loose, lively, colorful flowers, Vera Melnyk, who produces mosaic of complex textures and patterns and Darla Baack, who creates luminous works in stained glass. IN THE MAIN GALLERY 2017 ARTIST TEEN MENTORING PROJECT April 14– April 28, 2017 Reception: Friday, April 21, 5–8pm This exhibition is a culmination of Rogue Gallery & Art Center’s annual Artist Teen Mentoring Project that pairs professional artists with Rogue Valley high school students for intensive study and interaction.
