“Equinox” Wins Best in Show at Artistic Visions

In January my work was accepted into the Artistic Visions exhibition at the Florence Event Center. The show was juried by Susan Lehman, an artist from Bandon, Oregon whose art I highly respect. Feminism (n.): Plural Exhibition Dates: May 8-June 25, 2015 Final Entry Due Date: February 11, 2015

“When feminism falls short of our expectations,” writes Roxane Gay in her 2014 book Bad Feminist, “we decide the problem is with feminism rather than with the flawed people who act in the name of the movement.” Inspired by the themes articulated in Gay’s book, WMG invites artists of all genders to submit works that ask us to rethink what feminism is, was, and can be.

The guiding premise of “Feminism (n.) Plural” is that feminism is not a monolithic movement but instead an ever-evolving concept. There is no capital F “Feminism” acting as the Law to which its subjects must uncritically

This is a call for art open to ALL artists for “Oil and Water” juried by Sarah Krepp. The entry due date is August 27, 2014.

Woman Made Gallery membership is not required in order to enter into juried shows or exhibit at WMG. You do not have to log in to submit your entry Online – and creating your online entry in one session is the best way to submit.

Artists may submit up to three works by mail with jpgs and application on a CD or online as digital files. Please include one detail per work only if necessary, as with book art or three-dimensional works or if areas in two-dimensional work need to be clarified. Accepted artwork must not exceed 72″ horizontally or have been previously shown at WMG.
