NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! $15 buys you a base piece of glass, access to all frits, stringers and scrap glass, hanging hardware and firing and two hours of fun! Ashland artist Micah Ofstedahl combines the conscious observations of science with the subconscious imagination of the mind in his surrealistic acrylic paintings. Jacksonville artist Leona Keene Sewitsky explores the unconscious mind in playful, dreamlike, and mysterious sculptures created from recycled objects and paper mache.

Each year the Rogue Gallery & Art Center reflects on one of the great art movements of the past or present to inspire our member artists in their journey of creating original works of art. Welcome to Our New Member, Melody Blore

The Southern Oregon Artists Resource is delighted to welcome our newest member, painter Melody Blore. Please take a moment to visit her listing and follow the links to explore her online presence.

Melody Blore leads a quirky and colorful not-so-still life. She and her husband Darrell retired to Jacksonville, Oregon from Southern California in 2010. On a whim, she opened A French Bouteaque four months later. What began as a Parisian-style tearoom soon evolved into a source for those with “Tea Party Spirit.” It claimed to be “imagined and created by a Fancy Nancy / funky Martha Stewart kinda gal…A creative cottage full of imagination and magical experiences.”

When she closed, customers asked, “what will you do now?” She said she would paint. Her whimsical works reflect all her bouteaque embodied—a spirit of celebration. Melody paints in acrylic with a happy color

Southern Oregon Plein Air 2017 June 28th – July 1st

Central Art is partnering with Artist’s Workshop of Southern Oregon for a very special plein air event this summer! This year we are proud to have as our jurors renowned artists Richard McKinley,www.mckinleystudio.com and Willo Balfrey, www.willobalfrey.com. Together, Richard and Willo will be conducting an optional two day oils and pastels plein air workshop to kick off the event on Monday, June 26th and Tuesday, June 27th. Enrollment is limited to 15 participants.
