Comfort, durability and eco-concerns dictate my choice of materials. The knit ponchos that will be featured this month showcase my latest fiber of choice: bamboo. They also illustrate how versatile a simple rectangle can become when sewn in the right places and draped in various ways. Royal Nebeker, internationally known printmaker, will teach a two week intensive printmaking workshop at Clatsop Community College this summer for beginning and intermediate printmakers. The workshop is scheduled Monday to Thursday beginning July 22 and extending through August 1, and will be held at the CCC Art Center Gallery, 1799 Lexington Avenue, Astoria. The focus of this intensive workshop is on monotype, etching and collagraph techniques.
