July at Art du Jour Gallery
Featured Watercolor Artist Kay Myer, and Cammy Davis in Our Salon The Sentry, by Kay Myer Rose BoKay, by Kay Myer Grenache Rose, by Kay Myer
“The gentle flow of beautiful colors fusing together and traveling with generous splashes of water” is Kay Myers’ description of her watercolor style, and she says her “best friends,” her sable brushes, “do most of the work with minimal strokes.” Kay is never at a loss for inspiration and can delight in the smallest things, light on a leaf, sparkle on water, and is passionate about painting nature in her colorful, loose and interpretive style. She has been painting in watercolor since the 1980s and “loves exploring the endless possibilities this medium allows.”
Kay’s art hangs in collections in Koln, Bachingen and Reinsdorf, Germany; Krems and Vienna, Austria; Ryd, Sweden; Wales, UK, and many states

Judy Elliott Featured Artist at Gallery One
Silk artist Judy Elliott will be the featured artist at Gallery One in Grants Pass and will demonstrate her process for painting on silk on First Friday, July 7th, from 6-7pm.
“Crabbing”
Judy Elliott’s artwork relates to traditional painting. However, instead of painting on canvas, she uses dye and resist on silk, with an emphasis on wildlife and its preservation. Watch a demonstration of her work on July 7th, 6-7pm at Gallery One in Grants Pass.
“Reflection”
“My inspiration for painting on silk is influenced by my experience while growing up in Hawaii with a family who appreciated art, music, exotic cultures and a love of nature, as well as my observations while hiking throughout Oregon. After reading countless articles about the perils of nature and it’s wildlife, I chose to express the urgency of man’s awareness and

Upcoming Workshops with Silvia Trujillo
I’ve been at the drawing board (literally) working on three large commissions for the new Oregon Retina Center in Medford, getting work ready for my solo exhibit at The Berryman Gallery (located in the Craterian Theater), acted as juror for a member show, finished up the teen mentor project, and recently taught a ‘Clouds & Skies’ workshop. Besides all this I’ve managed to get a bit of plein air work in and attend some open model sessions. Whew, it’s been a busy Spring, but I’m grateful for all of the opportunities! And of course I’m still showing new work at the Art & Soul Gallery in Ashland.
If you’d like to keep up with my latest works and offerings, please visit my blog (link at bottom) and subscribe …
Upcoming workshops: Plein Aire Saturday and Sunday, July 8-9, 8:30am-12pm All painting media and skill levels

Scenes from the Unconscious Micah Ofstedahl & Leona Keene Sewitsky
June 23–August 4, 2017
Ashland artist Micah Ofstedahl combines the conscious observations of science with the subconscious imagination of the mind in his surrealistic acrylic paintings. Jacksonville artist Leona Keene Sewitsky explores the unconscious mind in playful, dreamlike, and mysterious sculptures created from recycled objects and paper mache.
