Ashland Gallery Association Spotlight Exhibits Gallerie Karon East Meets East – Part II

(please note that the title of the show is East Meets East NOT East Meets West)

The exhibit runs from February 2nd through the 28th

Gallerie Karon takes you on a journey to the Near, Far, and Middle East this month.

Exotic jewelry, kimonos, Buddhas and Quan Yins abound. They are joined by ceramics, masks and fascinating accessories. Gallerie Karon now features antique furniture specializing in small interesting pieces that will fit anywhere with versatile uses.

It’s the lunar Year of the Dog in Chinese Astrology and it’s going to be a good one as the dog is a lucky sign. Prosperity and love are predicted. The dog is watchful and protective and of course, very loyal.

There will be a special appearance Feb 2nd from 5:30-7pm by Zahara.

Spring Student Guitar Recital and Concert at the PAC

Clatsop Community College is proud to present this year’s Spring Recital and Concert to showcase the talents of students studying guitar with noted musician David Drury, Saturday, March 16, 2013, 7:00pm at the CCC Performing Arts Center (PAC), 16th and Franklin in Astoria. The concert will benefit the Support the PAC Fund at the CCC Foundation. Columbia Coffee Roaster will provide beverages.

 

The evening will also include a concert by talented local musicians who are donating their time and talent to illustrate the importance of the CCC Performing Arts Center as a venue for arts and education serving the college and the community. David Drury will be performing, both solo and with Basin Street NW, the trio that also features pianist Chuck Wilder and bassist Todd Pederson.
