Each year Art Presence Art Center hosts the artistic results of a creative challenge in October. ART’Clectic Garden Party Group Show Quilts by Charlotte Wirfs, garden furniture by Lisa St Arnold, Oils by Walt Wirfs ART’Clectic takes over the gallery at Art Presence with a Garden Party group show for May 2017! The group offers original pieces created by sixteen of the group’s artist and artisan members, an eclectic mix of framed fine art, giclée prints, home and garden decor items and furniture, photography, pine needle baskets, textile art, jewelry, and pottery. The show opens at 11:00 am on Friday, May 5, continuing every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am–5:00 pm through May 28. Artwork includes historical personalities, religious symbols, famous geographical locations, mythological ideas, and whimsical subjects in every kind of media. The Annual Members’ Exhibition features work by Rogue Gallery and Art Center members and is always one of the most popular of the year. The Rogue Gallery has had a long history of supporting local and regional artists. GRANTS PASS — Two new exhibits go on display in October, November, and December at the Rogue Community College Firehouse Gallery and Wiseman Gallery. “Presence and Past,” an exhibit by Braeden Cox, will be on display October 28 to November 21 at the Firehouse Gallery, located in RCC Historic City Hall at the corner of Fourth and H streets. Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Cox, a Portland artist, presents a series of charcoal and ink drawings that use abstract gestural marks to suggest geological, botanical and structural forms. Mixed media works by RCC art instructor Pat Enos will also be on display in the Firehouse Gallery Community Exhibits Room. A First Friday reception is scheduled 5:30to 8:30 p.m. on November 7.
