Cost: $30 Taught by Kristen O’Neill Saturday, January 20th, 1:00pm – 4:00pm.

Learn about Post-Impressionism and Gauguin. Leave with an acrylic painting on canvas of your favorite Gauguin piece. Study a master’s work – a time-honored tradition to improving your art skills. All skill levels are welcome. All materials are provided! You can bring in a copy of your favorite Gauguin, or use copies provided.

Grants Pass Museum of Art September 2017 Events, Exhibitions and Activities Exhibitions Hot Palette – Exhibition of works by Dianne Jean Erickson: August 4 – September 15, 2017. Tuesday – Saturday 10 am – 5 pm. Free. Featuring the encaustic (hot wax) artwork of Dianne Jean Erickson. She is a painter, printmaker, and encaustic artist producing works of art both personal and universal in their nature. First Friday September 1st. Open until 9 pm. Demonstrations by local artists and tickets for Open Studios will be on sale at a variety of locations, including the Museum and Gallery One. Open Studios Preview Exhibition – September 20 – 28. It’s almost the end of summer and school is starting soon. The museum is a great place to visit – we have great exhibits and activities and it’s “cool” inside. Our very successful classes for children end this week. We have a bit more room in the Zentangle class on Tuesday. It’s been a fun summer with kids exploring various forms of art.

We will continue adult workshops through out the fall, winter, and spring. Check below for what is coming up soon.

AND don’t miss out on our fabulous music offerings. This week we have a double header. Friday we have Daniel Boling, one of the best song writers in America. Saturday we have a string quartet from New York doing a fund raiser for Chinquapin Center for the Arts.

ROGUE VALLEY BIENNIAL 2017 CALL TO ARTISTS

PURPOSE: As is the tradition of long-standing biennial exhibitions, such as the Venice

Biennale in Italy and the Whitney Biennial in New York City, the Rogue Valley Biennial will present the “art of our time.”

  

Work that is innovative, showcasing contemporary visual artists, both emerging and established.

Work that includes subject matter, processes, and materials that reflect 21st-century perspectives and concerns.

The work included in the exhibit may contain politically and socially relevant content, be provocative in subject matter and imagery, and challenge viewers’ aesthetic perceptions.

THE ROGUE VALLEY BIENNIAL IS A FORUM FOR THE CULTIVATION, UNDERSTANDING, AND APPRECIATION OF REGIONAL CONTEMPORARY ART.
