Mid August 2020 eNews We have been featuring other cultural organizations in our mid month eNews. This month we are highlighting Clayfolk. Each year the members of Clayfolk gather at the museum to have their annual meeting and to pick their booth space for their huge show in November. However, this year, the show has been canceled. We miss them and thought you might like to see some of the members’ creations. This group by no means represents all of the Clayfolk members and we urge you to go to their website and enjoy more. In each case, we will list the artist’s own website so you can explore and even purchase some of their work. Thank you Kristen O’Neill for helping to put this edition together! Open Studios September 29 & 30 Our third annual Open Studios: How Art is Made tour starts in just over 2 weeks. We are looking forward to an art-filled weekend and have 13 artists in 10 studio locations. This year the tour showcases studios that are north of the Rogue River. Next year we will feature studios that are south of the river. Can you do us a favor? Help us spread the word! Even if you aren’t participating as an artist this year, we still want your help. Buy a ticket, tell a friend (or ten). Post to Facebook, email your art loving pals. Help support our growing art community in the Josephine County by spreading the word about this event. Get inspired by 23 artists in 18 studio locations throughout Josephine County. Artist’s whose studios are located south of the Rogue River have their studios open on 9/23 & 9/24. The next weekend, 9/30 & 10/1, artists whose studios are north of the Rogue River have their studios open. Both days the studios are open 10 am – 5 pm. Tickets for the event are $20 per adult. The map of all the studio locations is the ticket. And for the first 150 tickets we have an Artist Guide Book, featuring photos of each artist’s work, and their artist statements. It is a 52 page, 6” x 9” book. Attendees can visit as many studios as they like, over the course of the 4 days.
