Featured Watercolor Artist Kay Myer, and Cammy Davis in Our Salon The Sentry, by Kay Myer Rose BoKay, by Kay Myer Grenache Rose, by Kay Myer
“The gentle flow of beautiful colors fusing together and traveling with generous splashes of water” is Kay Myers’ description of her watercolor style, and she says her “best friends,” her sable brushes, “do most of the work with minimal strokes.” Kay is never at a loss for inspiration and can delight in the smallest things, light on a leaf, sparkle on water, and is passionate about painting nature in her colorful, loose and interpretive style. She has been painting in watercolor since the 1980s and “loves exploring the endless possibilities this medium allows.”
Kay’s art hangs in collections in Koln, Bachingen and Reinsdorf, Germany; Krems and Vienna, Austria; Ryd, Sweden; Wales, UK, and many states

Community Gallery Exhibit Capturing Life: Oil Paintings by Charity Hubbard
October 21–November 18, 2016
Reception Date: October 21, 5:00-8:00 pm
Seattle Public Market, by Charity Hubbard
Charity Hubbard’s fine art oil paintings of people, landscapes and architecture capture life as it happens, blending traditional painting techniques with a feeling of spontaneity.
Using a palette of warm rich colors and loose brushstrokes, Hubbard creates luminescent paintings reminiscent of the painters from the Romantic era. Charity Hubbard completed a one year program at Pacific College of Art and studied for two years with nationally renowned artist Semyon Bilmes. She has received numerous awards and is a member of the Upper Rogue Artists’ Society. She is inspired by the masters including John Singer Sargent, Alma Tadema, Maxfield Parish, and Monet and also by current artists such as Clark Hulings, Jim Wodark, Richard Schmid, and Michael

Art du Jour Gallery at 213 E. Main St., Medford, will showcase the art of two well known Rogue Valley artists, Richard Woods and Corinne Stubson, through the month of September. The gallery is located at 213 E. Main in Medford, across from Vogel Park. Enjoy the work of many local artists that includes landscapes, digital art, abstracts, sculpture, ceramics, and more. Richard Woods will display several new pieces using the realism that he enjoys as he finds the use of detail fascinating. Woods’ works include the use of many mediums, oils, acrylics, pen and ink, pencil and Conte crayon. His favorites are pencil and Conte crayon as they give him the most control. Woods’ states, “My love for and interest in art began in early childhood. I have been drawing and painting most of my life.” His subjects have included lions, landscapes, still lifes, scenes from downtown Medford,

Art du Jour is pleased to announce our new member Deanna St. Martin who will be the featured artist in the main gallery for the month of March. Her vibrant, spontaneous paintings start out simply as she uses Halloween cobwebs to create the texture for the underpaintings. She then sprays on liquid watercolors and manipulates the paint, moving it, brushing it and continuing to amend the painting.

The Tao Duo: Tamae Frame and Annette Gurdjian exhibit contrasts two artists who explore deeply personal and spiritual experiences. Working from the base upward, Tamae uses slab-built techniques in constructing her 17 ceramic figurative sculptures. Drawing inspiration from ancient Indian Hindu sculptures, Mesoamerican clay figures, and Japanese Buddhist statues, she seeks to create the subtle impressions of inner life. Annette combines photography with oil painting in the 22 paintings on display. Glimpses of photographic images among the texture of paint create haunting dreamlike images. She works intuitively reflecting on strong influences in her life including her Armenian heritage. Frequently she depicts human conflict and struggles, the beauty and pain of existence.
