Nature Sketching & Journaling - Table Rock Hike

Nature Sketching & Journaling – Table Rock Hike Saturday, May 6, 2017, 9:00 a.m. at Lower Table Rock

The iconic Upper and Lower Table Rocks—formed seven million years ago by a volcanic eruption—are prominent reminders of the rich natural and cultural heritage found in the Rogue Valley. For thousands of years the Takelma Indians called Table Rocks their home, and early settlers hiked to their summits in long skirts and full suits. Today more than 50,000 people each year connect with nature and history while walking their trails. These “Islands in the Sky” are designated as an Area of Critical Environmental Concern and an America’s Great Outdoors site to protect their diverse habitats, expansive views, abundant wildlife and a wealth of wildflowers, including the extremely rare Dwarf-wooly Meadowfoam that grows nowhere else in the world.

Join a couple of scientists-turned-artists for a hike and exploration of art in nature

New Art Product Program and Demonstration at June 23 SOSA meeting

SOSA May 2018 meeting : sosa logo southern oregon society of artists

Monday, June 23rd at 7:00PM at the Medford Library, S.O.S.A. will offer a special, free to the public, New Art Product Program and Demonstration.

Multi-generational, family owned and operated since 1968, the La Petite Gallery evolved into Central Art Supply. The most complete art store between Sacramento and Portland, it leaves regional artists wanting for little.

Adam Bunch will lead off the evening demonstrating his master skills and offering tips using Copic Markers. Following light refreshments, Central Art owner, Dan Ebert, will introduce us to a variety of new products including a demonstration of Pebeo Paint. New to me, the finished product looks like shiny melted glass swirled together. It’s awesome.

We are creative people…let’s explore and have some fun for the sheer joy of it! Join us Monday evening at the downtown Medford Library at 7:00pm.

For additional information contact Alx Fox, 541.450.7092

A Taste of Summer with Art Presence

Yesterday’s Taste of Summer opening celebration of the Britt Festival was a colorful…artistic…and hot! way to welcome the 2013 concert season and summer in Jacksonville. There was art all over town, and Art Presence led the way. We know a picture is worth a thousand words, so I’ll keep my typing brief (it’s another beautiful day out there today!) and post the pictures I took of our artist members making sure art had a presence in town and the kids who participated in the art activities we presented on the lawn in font of the gallery…
