How to Help the Arts Community Affected by Hurricane Harvey

afta arts action fund logo

The destruction of physical property and financial resources has been devastating to nonprofit arts organizations along the Gulf Coast. This will also be an even greater challenge for self-employed artists, losing stability both at home and at work. As an organization of 350,000 individuals, Arts Action Fund members can help. Help Amanda Get Her MA at Sotheby’s

Amanda Hoevet seeks help raising funds so she can go to London to earn her Master's in Art at Sotheby's

Don’t ever give up on your dream! As a Mother that is what you always wish for your child, that they never give up on their dreams! Amanda has turned to crowdfunding hoping she can get some help to continue her education. She applied and was accepted into Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London to get her Master’s degree. The program is very small and difficult to get into, so to be accepted with only one phone interview was very exciting! We are SO proud of her! Walking through a museum with Amanda is an amazing experience. She can tell you who the artist is, when it was painted, point out the smallest details and explain why the artist painted it that way. She’s amazing – she knows and loves so much about art. She needs her Master’s degree to continue in the direction of this career path. The Institute believed in her enough to defer her enrollment a year but our task is to get the funds and not rely on the student loan program, which will be tough. She has until July 31st of this year to muster up some sort of miracle so she can go this year. Either way we need help!!!!!! Any donation will be greatly appreciated. Trust me, she is worth every dollar and the art world will be a better place with her in it! I promise!!! Love to you all! Mom
