From March 27th through May 8th at South Stage Cellars in Jacksonville, the featured guest artist will be renowned artist/activist Betty LaDuke in “Celebrating Local Farms and Farmworkers.” There will be a ‘meet the artist’ reception on Sunday April 7th from 1-3. Through detailed sketches, Betty captures imagery of local farmworkers performing various tasks as they work with the land. Betty later takes those field sketches, and in her studio, transfers the images onto large scale wooden panels which she sculpts and paints, similar to those found locally in the Medford International Airport. Featured in this show will be giclee prints of scenes from a variety of local farms such as La Mera Gardens, Fry Family Farms, and even South Stage Cellars’ own Quail Run Vineyard. Her show will benefit La Clinica along with The Rising Stars. http://www.bettyladuke.com/ Continue reading Meet Betty LaDuke “Celebrating Local Farms and Farmworkers” at South Stage Cellars By Art Presence, 397 contributed posts
