Earth Art isn’t just beautiful, it lifts your spirits, strengthens your connections, and even lessens the effects of mental illness. At Natural Earth Paint, we’ve always known that earth art making can change your life. But what is the science behind those changes? We’ve done the research for you. “Humans are a vital part of the Earth’s ecosystems; we’re deeply connected to nature rather than separate from it. Our oldest, most basic bond is to Mother Earth, the environment around us which we rely on, contribute to, and create with. Because of our connection, creating with earth-based materials ties us to the world around us as well as our natural selves. Earth-based materials are an extension of our organic bodies, heritages, and histories. Creating art to ground yourself in the Earth, your heritage, and your environment provides clarity and reduces anxiety. It provides space to explore Continue reading Can Earth Art Help Us Heal? Natural Earth Paint News August 2016 ARTIST HIGHLIGHT: Eco Artist and Survivor Finds Love through Earth Art Eco artist, Pamela Hoke, has been on an artistic journey for many years to express nature as love through her writing and art. She wrote the book “Natural Self Discovery,” and is currently creating a revised edition, which describes her recent move to the Pacific Northwest, her recent challenge with breast cancer, and a shift to Natural Earth Paints as her new medium. Her quest to discover a more earth-friendly and body-friendly art medium came about after she received two emergency grants from The Gottleib Foundation and The Haven Foundation. After surviving the worst part of her breast cancer experience, these grants helped empower her to invest in creating her entire paint inventory with Natural Earth Pigments, as it allowed her to have one paint source through Continue reading Natural Earth Paint News August 2016 By Southern Oregon Artists Resource, 1965 contributed posts

About the author: When I moved to Oregon in the 1970s I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Living here is an endless source of inspiration for many of my watercolor paintings. Oregon landscapes and rivers have been a favorite subject, as well as still life, florals and architecture. Another source of inspiration is traveling with my husband. We love Italy, the place of my family’s roots. I find the rich textures and colors of old world cultures, as well as the people, wonderful subjects to paint. It was here in Oregon that I was introduced to watercolors. I’ve had the privilege of learning under the instruction of accomplished watercolorists like Lavonne Tarbox-Crone, Judy Morris and Margaret Godfrey. These wonderful artists have inspired and nurtured me, but above all I want to acknowledge that my abilities are a gift of the Creator, whose beautiful masterpieces cannot be rivaled. I have been a member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon since 2004. Visit my new website at lindaabblettwatercolor.com! A link to your site, with your site’s name as anchor text. Prices Reduced on Original Watercolors! Over the past few weeks I have been sifting through all my original watercolors. Happy Holidays from Leah & Django! I wanted to give a final update on our Earth Paints fundraiser and search for a warehouse. After searching for the past month and not finding a single warehouse space even available in our small town, I was feeling pretty disheartened until I found the perfect space this afternoon! Very synchronistic as a friend’s friend decided to move out of their space and told me first. It’s the perfect size and location and available for us to move in on Jan. 1st (which is perfect timing so we don’t have to scoop thousands of natural dye baggies in our freezing, tiny shed all Winter)! Our fundraiser has a few days left (ends Dec. 10th) and we’ve raised 22% of our goal to pay for the warehouse and hire 2 employees. By the way, this isn’t a kickstarter fundraiser, in which you have Continue reading News & Developments from Leah Mebane By Southern Oregon Artists Resource, 1965 contributed posts
