Call to Artists: Annual Betty Bowen Award
The Betty Bowen Award is now accepting applications! This award was established to honor Betty Bowen (1918-1977) who was an enthusiastic supporter of Northwest contemporary art. This is a juried award and the winner receives an unrestricted prize of $15,000 to further their career. A selection of works by the winner will be exhibited at the Seattle Art Museum. All visual artists working in any media in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho are encouraged to apply. More information is available at visitsam.org/betty-bowen. Invitation to all female identified artists worldwide to submit artwork for this open exhibition. All themes, styles, and media will be considered. Artwork that explores or challenges conceptual and material boundaries is encouraged.
The application fee for our juried exhibitions is $30 for up to three images of work, plus one detail image if necessary. The 2016 Artoberfest deadline is approaching fast!
The 2016 Artoberfest deadline is Friday, July 15. Artists, artisans and vendors who plan to join us for our fifth annual art festival should submit your application before this Friday.
Artoberfest is a Juried Art & Fine Craft Fair in the Beautiful Illinois Valley of Southern Oregon. This year’s festival takes place Friday–Sunday, October 14, 15 and 16.

Ashland Open Studio Registration Information and Application Deadline July 15, 2016 AOST is a popular event sponsored by the Ashland Gallery Association (AGA) inviting the public to visit the very places where art is created. This year’s event will include professional working studios in the Ashland, Talent, Phoenix, and Greensprings/Mt. Ashland areas. “You are what you art, and art is what you are.” Artist Denise Kester Participating Artists have an opportunity to expand their audience and deepen the connection with their established patrons. Artists have received additional work and exposure opportunities by participating in the tour. In order to support our sponsor, the Ashland Gallery Association, the AOST requests that our participating studios be regularly showing Artists at a local AGA registered Gallery, or registered as an AGA Working Studio or Artist Member.
