Jefferson Baroque Orchestra

Jefferson Baroque Orchestra will have a small concert today, Friday, April 4th at 4:00 pm at the Rogue Gallery & Art Center. They will perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto #5 using period instruments.

Jefferson Baroque Orchestra performs many of the major works of such well-known composers as Bach, Handel, Telemann, Vivaldi, Scarlatti, Purcell, and Lully. At the same time they also explore the lesser known masters of the eighteenth century: Graupner, Heinichen, Zachow, Pergolesi, and many others.

This concerto will be a preview of their Spring concert this weekend in Grants Pass: Saturday, April 5, 2014, 7pm, Newman Methodist Church, 132 NE B Street, Grants Pass and in Ashland: Sunday, April 6, 2014, 3pm, First United Methodist Church, 175 North Main Street, Ashland.

RCC Community Orchestra presents free pops concert

The Rogue Community College Community Orchestra will perform in concert at 7 p.m. June 5 in the Rogue Auditorium, RCC Redwood Campus, 3345 Redwood Hwy. Admission is free. The concert will include selections from “Les Miserables,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “The Lord of the Dance,” “The Mission,” and Gilbert and Sullivan. Gary Kroll directs the orchestra. A very ambitious festival celebrating all the diversity and fun of Applegate Valley living, with and arts & crafts market, farmer’s market, wine tasting, barbeque, canine agility demonstrations, wood-fired pizza, historical displays, quilt exhibits and live music on the river at Cantrall-Buckley Park! $5 for tickets – proceeds benefit Cantrall-Buckley Park.
