Plus, the Rogue Gallery is hosting my plein air workshop taking place this Saturday at the lovely Alpaca Ranch in Eagle Point! We will start our paintings with an underpainting, then learn how to block in your painting, and add texture. Then we can use glazing, scumbling, and sgraffito. These will be taught in acrylic. NEW Choose Your Medium Painting Class with Jeanne LaRae When: Wednesday, June 5th, 2019 (4 week session) Time: 6:00pm – 9:00pm Where: Central Art Fee: $120 Choose your own painting adventure in a creative setting that’s as individualized as you’d like it to be. Students will be able to choose both their medium – oils or acrylics – and the subject matter they’d like to paint. In this class, the techniques of artists who inspire you will be demystified, and you will be encouraged, but not pushed, to try various ways of painting that are a little outside your comfort zone. Please bring examples of your work and ideas for possible subjects for your paintings to the first class. Students are responsible for their own materials, or you may discuss with Jeanne about providing supplies for you for each class or just to start. Last year’s palette knife class was such a huge success that I’m offering it again! If you’ve never tried painting with a knife, it’s a whole new experience. Knife painting is very freeing – particularly for those of you who would like to loosen up a bit with your acrylic or oil paintings. You will achieve a richness of texture and color like no other.
