Ashland Natural Medicine “Africa, Fashion & Photography”, featuring Jennifer Jensen ANM Gallery of Contemporary Art is thrilled to host local Ashland artist, Jennifer Jensen’s newest works of art titled: Africa, Fashion & Photography This exceptional show is a beautiful combination of creative expression and inspiration from her travels to Selous Game Reserve, in South West Tanzania where she photographed wildlife in the bush and then onto Zanzibar where Jensen purchased African fabrics to bring home and design her clothing. Line, color, shape and texture are just some of the strong art elements that weave together her clothing design choices and carefully selected compositions in each safari image. The care and attention to detail in creating each clothing and photograph clearly makes a statement of her devotion and passion to her crafts. SOAR was created and is maintained by art advocate and web designer Hannah West in Jacksonville, Oregon to promote our diverse and talented arts community to our visitors and the rest of the world. Hey everyone! I just wanted to give you an update on our first meeting of the “Friends” of Talent Public Arts. We met on the evening of October 3 over at the Talent Library and had a great discussion about starting up the group and how you all can participate. We also met with Betty LaDuke about helping us to create a mural for the Valley View side of the Talent Liquor store! We are totally psyched about this great proposal. Betty will have a few of us come over to her studio within the next couple of weeks to look at her work and her sketch book and collaborate on what we want to use for the imagery. Betty is thinking of creating harvest scenes with an abstracted background that the community can help to paint, so here’s your chance to jump in! Kelly Lamb has graciously offered to Continue reading Friends of Talent Public Arts Update By Southern Oregon Artists Resource, 1982 contributed posts

From March 27th through May 8th at South Stage Cellars in Jacksonville, the featured guest artist will be renowned artist/activist Betty LaDuke in “Celebrating Local Farms and Farmworkers.” There will be a ‘meet the artist’ reception on Sunday April 7th from 1-3. Through detailed sketches, Betty captures imagery of local farmworkers performing various tasks as they work with the land. Betty later takes those field sketches, and in her studio, transfers the images onto large scale wooden panels which she sculpts and paints, similar to those found locally in the Medford International Airport. Featured in this show will be giclee prints of scenes from a variety of local farms such as La Mera Gardens, Fry Family Farms, and even South Stage Cellars’ own Quail Run Vineyard. Her show will benefit La Clinica along with The Rising Stars. http://www.bettyladuke.com/ Continue reading Meet Betty LaDuke “Celebrating Local Farms and Farmworkers” at South Stage Cellars By Rogue Gallery & Art Center, 125 contributed posts
