UnWine’d Unfolds with Success

Oregon showed its might Sunday with 100 producers coming together to proudly kick off May’s Oregon Wine Month with the inaugural UnWine’d event. It has been decades since the Oregon Wine Board has sponsored a collective tasting and with over 800 attendees, I’d say it was a massive success. Not only was the two-story Left Bank Annex full of wine enthusiasts, it was also full of excitement for the quality and creativity coming from our state.
The response for Southern Oregon wines was overwhelming popular. I manned the Southern Oregon Winery Association table for an hour and my hook to bring people in was “Which Southern Oregon wines have you enjoyed today?” Everyone had answers! And the twitter-verse was going crazy too:

Here are some photos of the afternoon:

The Oregon Wine Board really hosted a great event and I’d like to thank the whole staff for their efforts. Now, let’s keep the momentum alive and celebrate Oregon wines!

Shocking Exclusion in Portland Monthly’s "50 Best Oregon Wines" (or not?)

Portland Monthly cover story headline is very misleading. If “best” and “Oregon wine” are in your headline, you better have a broader selection than 100 producers in your tasting. With not one Southern Oregon or Columbia Gorge pick, I am thinking “best…
