Lynda Hoffman-Snodgrass, Soft Rain, Watercolor Art & Soul AshlandAbstract Expressions

This month’s exhibition at Art & Soul Ashland includes watercolor paintings by Lynda Hoffman-Snodgrass. Incorporating swirls and flowing patterns with organic shapes that intertwine and overlap, Lynda’s compositions are like a mesmerizing dance on paper. With her brushstrokes being both fluid and gestural, this allows her viewers to perceive a sense of motion and rhythm while encouraging imagination and contemplation.

Ashland Natural Medicine “Africa, Fashion & Photography”, featuring Jennifer Jensen

ANM Gallery of Contemporary Art is thrilled to host local Ashland artist, Jennifer Jensen’s newest works of art titled: Africa, Fashion & Photography

This exceptional show is a beautiful combination of creative expression and inspiration from her travels to Selous Game Reserve, in South West Tanzania where she photographed wildlife in the bush and then onto Zanzibar where Jensen purchased African fabrics to bring home and design her clothing.

Line, color, shape and texture are just some of the strong art elements that weave together her clothing design choices and carefully selected compositions in each safari image. The care and attention to detail in creating each clothing and photograph clearly makes a statement of her devotion and passion to her crafts.

Grab your keys and go….from a San Francisco luncheon to sun-drenched Cayucos and then to a cool, mist filled day in Bandon, Oregon, I have marveled at the endless beauty of the world. The landscape renews us, brings us joy and hope in a time filled with anxious thoughts and feelings. Yes, we are sorrowful at the shrinking of the natural world. We stagger at the perils of over civilization, pollution, global warming, the shrinking of animal habitats, the acidification of the oceans, (to name a few), as they loom over our lives in an endless stream of fear. However, the joy of creating seems to transcend my fear. As I paint, I am in prayerful reverence for nature and I hope to communicate love, joy, and transcendent hope.
