We adore the way he lifts key elements off the canvas by rendering them with recycled bits of metal. See them for yourself — Join him for a reception on 6/13! The Cellar’s receptions are generally from 5:30 – 8pm, but you might want to call to make sure.

South Stage Cellars is located at 125 S. 3rd Street in Jacksonville, Oregon. You can call them at 541-899-9120. Contact Curtis at 541-621-0667.

Reception for New Art Exhibits at Rogue Gallery

www.roguegallery.org 40 South Bartlett Street Medford Oregon 97501 541-772-8118

Art Reception for new exhibits at the Rogue Gallery on January 19, 2017 Main Gallery exhibit Human Connection: Figurative Paintings by Karen Staal Exhibit date: January 5–February 16, 2018

Working in oil and acrylic, Ashland artist Karen Staal creates figurative paintings. She refines the figures to their essence, creating new harmonies with line, shape, and color. By her use of negative space, she evokes a narrative or relationship that expresses unity and joy.

This exhibit spans several decades of figurative paintings by Karen Staal. Each of the paintings presents the figures as connected and one with the canvas. Serene swimmers by the pool, jazz musicians at their instruments, embracing couples, and individuals in quiet contemplation are reverently interpreted, creating paintings of calmness and peace. Karen has exhibited throughout Oregon and California. She holds a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute.

Welcome to Our New Member, Melody Blore

The Southern Oregon Artists Resource is delighted to welcome our newest member, painter Melody Blore. Please take a moment to visit her listing and follow the links to explore her online presence.

Melody Blore leads a quirky and colorful not-so-still life. She and her husband Darrell retired to Jacksonville, Oregon from Southern California in 2010. What began as a Parisian-style tearoom soon evolved into a source for those with “Tea Party Spirit.” It claimed to be “imagined and created by a Fancy Nancy / funky Martha Stewart kinda gal…A creative cottage full of imagination and magical experiences.”

When she closed, customers asked, “what will you do now?” She said she would paint. Her whimsical works reflect all her bouteaque embodied—a spirit of celebration. Melody paints in acrylic with a happy color
