A Taste of Summer with Art Presence

Yesterday’s Taste of Summer opening celebration of the Britt Festival was a colorful…artistic…and hot! way to welcome the 2013 concert season and summer in Jacksonville. There was art all over town, and Art Presence led the way. We know a picture is worth a thousand words, so I’ll keep my typing brief (it’s another beautiful day out there today!) and post the pictures I took of our artist members making sure art had a presence in town and the kids who participated in the art activities we presented on the lawn in font of the gallery…

CALL FOR ARTISTS: Jacksonville Celebrates the Arts Festival 2012

The event coordinator of the Jacksonville Celebrates the Arts Festival is accepting applications now – August 15th, 2012. Potters and clay sculptors, weavers, painters, toy makers, and creators of original clothing, musical instruments, soaps/candles/lotions, designer furniture, artistically-crafted unique paper, wood, stone, glass, metal, gourds, fiber arts and leather are all welcome to apply. EUGENE BENNETT: A LIFE IN ART FEATURED EXHIBIT AT ROGUE GALLERY & ART CENTER AND FEATURED ARTIST AT ART IN BLOOM FESTIVAL

This year during the Art in Bloom Festival, the Rogue Gallery & Art Center opens Eugene Bennett: A Life in Art, an exhibition featuring the art of one of the Rogue Valley’s most loved artists, an influential teacher, and a founder of the Rogue Gallery & Art Center. Numerous works on display were held in the artist’s personal collection and have never before been offered to the public. The public is invited to attend a free RECEPTION held on Friday, May 18 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm during Third Friday in Downtown Medford. During the Art In Bloom festival weekend, the RGAC will host a Community Mural Project inspired by Eugene Bennett’s creativity and using his art materials. This free art activity invites community members of all ages to create an original collage to be part of a larger mural on display at the Rogue Gallery & Art Center later this year.
