In 1976 George & Winnie Ebert brought their successful art materials business from Coos Bay, OR to Medford – Ebert Arts Center & Framing. In 1981 they moved to 6th & Central Ave known now as Central Art Supply. Their vision and belief in the artistic pulse of Southern Oregon has benefitted our region for the past 41years. Truly pioneers in the art community that we have all come to love.

George passed away September 20 after a battle with cancer. He will be sorely missed by his family and by many in the community. He loved working with people and had such a pleasant disposition. Up until the last month of his life, he would often stop by Central Art to hang out, help, visit with customers – whatever he wanted to do. Southern Oregon Society of Artists Annual Award Banquet

Not getting away from my computer as much as I should, it was my great pleasure to step out and attend the annual awards banquet of the Southern Oregon Society of Artists on Saturday. This is the first time they held their year-end event at the Rogue Valley Country Club; around a hundred artists and their guests were seated at tables in the Country Club’s ball room where we enjoyed a beautiful luncheon with wine while waiting with bated breath for the Painting of the Year awards to be announced.
